There are numerous mountains for hiking trekking and mountaineering in Alborz and Zagros Chains in Iran with many 4000m peaks. Mt Tochal is the most popular non technical mountains for a summer trek.

Mt Touchal is 3965m hight, it is in Tehran metropolitan. It hase different climbing routes such as Darband, Darakeh, Kolakchal, Velenjak, ...Tocohal is the most crowded mountain during the Iranian Weekends (Thursday and Friday). Every week hundreds of Iranian mountaineers visit Mnt Tochal for hiking & trekking and rock climbing. Touchal is the best places to practice and get ready for M Damavand 5671m.

Mount Tochal is located in in the Alborz Mountain Range in northern part of Tehran, Iran. It has a 12 km long ridgeline. The highest peak is called Mount Tochal.

A seven station gondola lift runs from Tehran to the Tochal Ski Resort and there is a modern hotel called Tochal Hotel. Toochal is a popular ski resort for in Tehran. It is one of the best ski resort in Iran and the nearest ski Resort to capital city Tehran, it is quite popular with the single daytrip skiers. It is the 5th highest ski resort in the globe, it has a gondola (telecabin) lift 7.5 Km long which is one of the longest in the world. It takes less than one hour from the first station to the last station by car cable.
